New bridge ends flood woes

THE villagers of Kampung Nelayan in Teluk Bahang, Penang, are heaving a sigh of relief now that a solution has been found to the flood problem that has been troubling them for the past four years.

The construction of a new bridge across the Teluk Bahang river not only solved the flood problems but also enhanced the image of Kampung Nelayan as a strategic tourist attraction, said state public works, utilities and flood mitigation committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari.
