EAGER for a fresh start after accepting his company’s mutual separation scheme, Noor Wahid Nuruddin, 48, never thought he would follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a farmer, until a friend recommended that he give rock melon farming a try.

The father of two children, aged 10 and 13, is the sole breadwinner of his family.
