JOVIAL chatter accompanied the sizzle of hot oil as members of the North Malaysia Malayali Samajam gathered in Penang to make a much-loved festive treat.

Dividing themselves across several different stations, they formed an efficient ‘assembly line’ and churned up some 3,000 pieces of crunchy and savoury muruku.
