Putting an end to food waste

An individual seen distributing food from his car boot as people queue up for food. A DBKL officer who arrived later, told him to go to the designated distribution area.

DESPITE Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) stern warning to individuals and groups not to distribute food directly to the homeless in the city centre, many were still spotted doing so on the first day of Ramadan.

Several individuals found distributing food from the boot of their cars near the Bangkok Bank area were politely told by DBKL officers, who were in plainclothes, to head to the three designated sites identified for food distribution instead.
