Mixed-race family excited to usher in Festival of Lights with loved ones tomorrow

Together again: (From left) Manikam, his daughters Kanjana and Thevi, sons-in-law Yap and Reilly as well as grandchildren Tara Jane, six, one-year-old Trevor and four-month-old Sadhbh Aarya receiving blessings at the Sri Suntharamoorthy Vinayagar Alayam temple in Melaka. (Masks were temporarily removed for photography purpose.)

DEEPAVALI celebrations this year will be extra special as it is the first of the festivities to take place after interstate travel restrictions have been lifted since early this year.

For husband and wife Gregory Reilly and M. Kanjana, this year’s celebration will be even more meaningful as they bring their newborn daughter Sadhbh Aarya Reilly back to her grandfather’s home in Melaka.
