Lifeline for roadside hawkers

ONE in every 10 hawkers on Penang island is operating illegally since the first movement control order (MCO) in March last year, according to the Penang Island City Council (MBPP).

Mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seang said there were 375 unlicensed hawkers, which accounted for 12.3% of the number of hawkers here, during the pandemic.
