Sabah and Labuan took a hard hit in domestic tourism due to the pandemic last year, with statistics showing clients and revenue dropping by more than half.

Tourism Malaysia domestic and events division senior director Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof said based on the Domestic Tourism Survey 2020 conducted by the Department of Statistics Malaysia, domestic tourism in Sabah in 2020 recorded a decline.
