WHAT started out as a club for Peranakan communities to connect and enjoy leisure activities in Penang, has now turned into an important place for members to showcase their cultural heritage.

The Penang State Chinese Association, which was founded in 1920 for the Straits-born Chinese, is probably one of the few places that encapsulates the history of Peranakan culture in Penang.
