Putrajaya Wetlands Park expects to attract more visitors once its latest interactive attraction is set up.

Putrajaya Corporation (PjC) has partnered with KRU Studios Sdn Bhd, which will operate the Nature Interactive Centre (NIC) that will have interactive information resources for visitors.

A signing ceremony between PjC president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud and KRU Entertainment chief executive officer Datuk Norman Abdul Halim was held at the PjC Complex.

Fadlun said at the ceremony that PjC also agreed with KRU Studios’ proposal to expand the scope of content by emphasising the role of freshwater as a source of natural biodiversity in Malaysia.

The NIC has also been rebranded as Wetland Studios Putrajaya (WSP).

“The site is temporarily closed due to maintenance and upgrading work to turn it into a new tourist attraction focused on caring for the environment.

“It is expected to be completed by April 2023,” added Fadlun.

In his speech, Norman said WSP would be an edutainment theme park to help visitors gain more understanding about flora and fauna in an entertaining way.

“PjC has agreed to our proposal to make Zan Orangutan, the main character of an animated film co-produced by KRU, as the mascot of Wetland Studios Putrajaya,” said Norman.

KRU will provide a wide range of animatronics and creative content special effects.
