PENANG may not be holding the state polls concurrently with the 15th General Election (GE15) but the battle for some federal seats is nevertheless expected to be intense.

Observers anticipate three seats – Bayan Baru and Balik Pulau on the island and Tasek Gelugor on the mainland – will see closely watched contests with a clash of personalities adding to the intrigue.
