TO better serve the poor, Zakat Pulau Pinang (ZPP) and Social Security Organisation (Socso) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to share data through the MySynergy system.

ZPP chief executive officer Datuk Amran Hazali said the smart collaboration would help the two organisations coordinate their aid schemes for the asnaf (tithe recipients) and prevent duplication of efforts.

“This new data sharing system will enable ZPP to reach out to more needy people so that no individual will be overlooked again.

“And if help has already been extended, we will give more as and when needed.”

The MOC signing was held at Wisma Perkeso Pulau Pinang in Seberang Jaya near Butterworth.
