THE Food Merchant has launched its third outlet next to the WCity OUG Sales Gallery with open-air carpark in Jalan Awan Besar, Kuala Lumpur.

The standalone premium grocer that offers a transformational shopping experience will be open from 8am to 10pm.

It is inspired and established by the Village Grocer chain’s founders who have over 25 years of industry experience.

The new outlet will benefit the immediate neighbourhoods of OUG, Jalan Kelang Lama, Happy Garden, Taman Desa, Kuchai Lama and even Puchong.

Customers will be able to experience and enjoy access to authentic foodstuffs, fresh produce and groceries from around the world under one roof, as well as a variety of casual dine-in choices.

Along with its range of fine groceries, the outlet will also have the Merchant Dine Food Hall that offers a melting pot of food and beverages, artisan bakery and cafe Kenny Hills Bakers, KL’s first oyster and seafood bar Shucked, as well as southern Baba Nyonya experts Original Nyonya.

Customers will also be able to enjoy happy hours at the specialist Vineyard that offers over 1,800 varieties of wines and spirits, paired with a curated range of over 100 Swiss-German sausages, ham, cold cuts and cooked meats, which are imported and freshly produced locally by Euro-Deli.

“To enhance our modern premium grocer concept at OUG for our customer’s convenience, we have brought Asia’s No. 1 health and beauty retailer Watsons, the fashionable lifestyle brand Miniso and Herbal Farmer, which offers Chinese herbal products with carefully selected herbs, flower tea, mushrooms and other high quality medicinal herbs,” said its managing director Ivan Tan.

Aimed at elevating the customer experience and convenience, The Food Merchant WCity OUG Sales Gallery will feature the complimentary trolley valley services.

It is recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the first supermarket in the nation to have the premium service offered by its Merchant Care department.

The department’s dedicated trolley team will accompany shoppers by pushing their trolleys, after checkout, to designated vehicles at pick-up points or carparks to help load their shopping into their vehicles.

The outlet will also make available the trolley check-in service.

Shoppers can leave their paid groceries in shopping trolleys safely with the Merchant Care team and proceed to enjoy the Merchant Dine Food Hall’s amenities without the hassle of lugging around their groceries.

The Food Merchant chief operating officer Leong Pei Khim added, “Our idea of the perfect customer experience is to anticipate all your needs.”

Customers can enjoy perks with the international grocer’s loyalty app ‘yes I do!’ with exclusive vouchers, partner privileges, promotions and festive deals.

First-time users will receive an RM5 welcome e-voucher.
