THE fourth outlet of The Food Merchant (TFM) has been opened, adding to its growing list of premium grocery stores at the Datum Jelatek Shopping Centre in Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur.

Founded by the same group that operates familiar brands such as The Village Grocer and Ben’s International Grocer, The Food Merchant aims to provide its customers with a second-to-none premium shopping experience.

The new outlet – strategically situated in front of the Jelatek LRT station – will benefit the surrounding communities in Taman U-Thant, Datuk Keramat and Ampang Jaya.

The premium grocer features an extensive range of products and goods from over 250 international brands, specialising in fine groceries and exotic delicacies, for its customers to experience some of the finest offerings from the globe.

“We aim to provide the best shopping experience to our customers, from our offerings to our services.

“We believe that with continued effort, TFM will grow into a household name for premium grocery in Malaysia,” said TFM managing director Ivan Tan.

With hundreds of well-known international brands specialising in daily bread and butter to Merchant Dine Food Hall, The Food Merchant ensures that its customers will leave with a taste of what the best of the world has to offer.

In addition to its range of local and international grocery products, customers will also be swarmed with dine-in offerings such as a leisure lifestyle artisan café, coupled with an array of lovely pastries, authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine and sushi, premium oyster and seafood bar serving the finest imported oysters and a variety of seafood. The new establishment will also serve premium vegan and plant-based ice cream and the best Turkish Coffee with delicacies such as dates and nuts.

TFM is also recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the first supermarket in the nation to have a trolley valet service, under its Merchant Care department, whereby a dedicated trolley team is on standby to help customers push and load their groceries into their vehicles.

Supplementing this services is TFM’s trolley check-in service, where customers can now leave their shopping cart under the care of the Merchant Care team – allowing them to continue with their shopping in the mall without having to lug their groceries around.

Frozen food items will even be stored in a freezer to keep them from melting, giving customers peace of mind while they shop.

“This is for our customers to have a stress-free shopping experience while anticipating all their needs. I believe that is the hallmark of a premium shopping experience,” said TFM chief operating officer Leong Pei Khim.

Customers who download its ‘yes, I do!’ loyalty app can also enjoy perks such as exclusive vouchers, partners privileges, promotions, festive deals, with an RM5 welcome e-voucher for first time users. The Food Merchant at Datum Jelatek Shopping Centre opens daily from 10am to 10pm. For more information, visit www.thefoodmerchant.com.my.
