Auction raises RM50,000 to educate, train at-risk youths

MySkills Foundation provides a life-changing chance for school dropouts as well as boys and girls from poor families by offering vocational courses to improve their lives.

PETRA Lifestyle, a business unit of Petra Group, has raised RM50,000 for non-governmental organisation (NGO) MySkills Foundation, which helps youths at risk.

The fundraising event was held in conjunction with the first anniversary celebration of V’s Bar, owned by Petra Lifestyle.

V’s Bar is a cocktail, whisky and cigar bar that was recognised at Malaysia’s Top 30 Bar Awards recently.

Petra Lifestyle president Roberto Guiati said he was happy with the turnout and contributions from those who attended the charity auction at the anniversary celebration.

“We are really happy with all the support received for MySkills Foundation through the auction, donations and purchase of products.

“The contributions will allow the foundation to reach out and help more young people through education and training,” he added.

Meanwhile, Petra Group chairman and chief executive Datuk Dr Vinod Sekhar said, “MySkills Foundation is chaired by my wife Datin Winy Sekhar and founded by Pasupathi Sithamparam.

“Pasupathi has, over the years, been tirelessly championing and equipping underprivileged youths with skills for a better life.

“MySkills Foundation provides a life-changing chance for boys and girls from poor families and school dropouts by offering vocational courses to improve their lives and change the course of their future,” he said.
