The Christmas lighting and press night organised by Granite Luxury Hotel provided plenty of festive merriment.

The award-winning hotel which overlooks the iconic Komtar Tower in George Town, Penang, treated media members to a lighting ceremony to mark Christmas and the upcoming Year of the Rabbit.

The glowing decor of a giant faux rose bunny flanked by golden trees adorned with red baubles was eye-catching and stood out at the entrance of the hotel.

Guests were also treated to Christmas carols sung by the Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home.

Plenty of fun followed later during the press night. The guests tucked into scrumptious food and enjoyed games like ‘toss the bottle” and “guess the song”.

A lucky draw session saw pressmen walking away with attractive prizes including hotel stays.

Hotel managing director Datuk Albert Moh shared in his speech that they would be launching their themed rooms by the end of this month.

“We have presidential suites where you can hold parties. Family suites and honeymoon suites are available too,” he said.

Moh noted that the hotel had a good year, winning property awards and entering Malaysia Book of Records for its pool and the mechanical carpark.

Formerly known as M Summit 191 Executive Hotel Suites, the hotel marked its rebranding as Granite Luxury Hotel with a splash.

Its three-tower 71m-high vertical carpark accommodating 204 vehicles was recognised as the “Tallest Automated Hotel Carpark” in the country.

Its transparent infinity pool was named the “Highest Cantilevered Acrylic Bottom Swimming Pool”, being 49m above ground level.

It also won two Asia Pacific Property Awards for “Best Leisure Development” and “Best New Hotel Construction and Design” in July this year.
