Radio station 988 FM is collaborating with WCT Malls to organise a Chinese New Year campaign titled “Do It Happy New Year” until Feb 5.

Four WCT Malls will be participating in the campaign.

They are Petaling Jaya (PJ) Paradigm Mall, Johor Baru (JB) Paradigm Mall, Gateway@KLIA2 and Subang SkyPark Terminal.

Under the campaign, 988 FM DJs will be making special appear-ances to greet fans on Jan 7 at JB Paradigm Mall from 2pm until 4pm.

The DJs will play some of 988’s Chinese New Year songs from their album Do It which contains a few lively new songs to go with their popular old ones.

Colourful cultural shows, acrobatic lion dances, a bazaar and limited-edition red packet giveaways will add to the festive mood during the campaign. Do also look out for 988 FM’s rabbit mascot Q-Zai.

WCT Malls chief executive officer Selena Chua said this year, they wanted to celebrate togetherness after facing three years of challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“No celebration will be complete without music so this partnership between WCT Malls and 988 FM is perfect for amping up merriment,” said Chua.

988 FM general manager Woo Bee Ay said the theme for their Do It album was finding hope and love in a prosperous year.

Each mall joining the campaign will have unique decorations.

PJ Paradigm Mall will have a riverside village setting with peony flowers and a round dining table to signify togetherness.

Shoppers at JB Paradigm Mall can follow the Chinese New Year tradition of hanging greetings on a wishing tree.

Meanwhile, Subang Skypark Terminal and Gateway@KLIA2 will greet visitors with a traditional Chinese village setting to create nostalgia.

Shoppers can go to a service counter to receive cash vouchers worth RM100, redeemable only at participating malls.

They can also receive 988 FM’s Do It album.

Customers who spend a specific sum will also be eligible to get a special Q-Zai ang pow, surprise bags, snack trays and other Year of the Rabbit items.

Those spending more than RM100 in a single receipt also have the option of purchasing one can of abalone for RM28.80 or two for RM53.80.

Hampers, cheongsam, mandarin oranges and other festive items as well as WCT Malls ecoupons are available at 20% discount at Paradigm Malls.
