Seniors invited to try their luck at receiving ang pow

Sports Toto’s ang pow donation campaign will be held in 48 cities and towns nationwide.

STM Lottery Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Sports Toto Malaysia) is holding its 36th Sports Toto Chinese New Year ang pow donation campaign from Thursday to the following Tuesday.

STM Lottery senior communications manager Giam Say Khoon said,“This donation campaign, which is a Sports Toto tradition, was turned into small private donation exercises in the past two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“So we are happy to announce that it is now back as the public event that many senior citizens look forward to.”

The campaign, which is open to those in need aged 60 and above, will take place throughout 48 cities and towns nationwide.

The campaign launch on Thursday will be held at the Boulevard, in front of the main entrance of Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur.

Senior citizens from Klang Valley who wish to participate are advised to come before 9am and bring along their identity card for verification purposes.

Senior citizens from elsewhere are required to register ahead of the distribution day.

The distribution of items will be held from 9am to 10.30am on a first-come, first-served basis.

No representative is allowed to collect the items on behalf of any senior citizen.

Registration details can be obtained at Sports Toto outlets, its website or by calling 03-2148 9779.

Since the inception of the campaign in 1988, the company has contributed over RM23mil worth of ang pow and hampers to 418,000 senior citizens nationwide.
