Sibu forum aims to help women traders tap into China market

ABOUT 500 businesswomen are expected to attend a forum to prepare them to face the reopening of the China market and improve bilateral trade.

The Borneo Women Entrepreneurs Forum 2023 will take place from Feb 25 to 26 in Sibu, Sarawak.

Speaking at a press conference, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce Sarawak Branch Women Entrepreneur chairperson Jamie Tiew said the event was being organised to encourage women to actively participate in entrepreneurship.

“At the same time, participants will also be prepared to face the reopening of the China market and work towards improving bilateral trade cooperation,” she said.

Sibu Businesswomen Association and Junior Chamber International Sibu are the co-organisers of the forum.

The two-day forum will cover various topics and include representatives from business, finance, education and law.

Exhibition booths will also be set up at the venue to facilitate matchmaking and enquiries.
