THREE elected representatives have urged the public to make full use of the free shuttle bus service provided by Johor government to two public hospitals in Johor Baru.

In her Facebook post, Johor Jaya assemblyman Liow Cai Tung said she had taken a ride in the free shuttle bus with Puteri Wangsa assemblyman Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz and Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah Wee Tse.

They shared how convenient the ride was from the Lotus Tebrau hypermarket to Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI).

“The service is convenient and accessible to the people who want to go to HSI. They just have to park their vehicles at the hypermarket and board the bus.

“The trip was less than five minutes,” they said, urging the public to make full use of the service to reduce congestion at HSI.

The trio congratulated HSI and Johor Public Transport Corporation (PAJ) for introducing the shuttle service.

They also reminded those wanting to use the free service to bring along their MyKad to tap the reader before boarding the bus.

The shuttle bus service is from Sunday to Thursday between 7am and 6pm.

The Johor government, through PAJ, provides the free shuttle bus service to those headed to HSI and Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Baru.

The initiative is intended to overcome the problem of traffic congestion and insufficient parking spaces at both hospitals.

The shuttle bus service for HSA started in Oct 30 last year where the bus would pick up passengers at Larkin Sentral Terminal before making stops at Plaza Larkin, HSA and the Mahmoodiah health clinic.

The HSI shuttle bus service, started on Nov 1 last year, travels from Lotus Tebrau to HSI and the Sultan Ismail health clinic.
