Segambut residents happy with improved road

SEGAMBUT residents are eager for upgrading works along Jalan 8/38A in Taman Sri Sinar, Segambut to be completed.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) project to improve walkways, drainage, pavements and kerbs along the 618m stretch of road started in August last year.

The first 298m of road works was completed in December.

The remaining 320m is still under construction and is expected to be completed by March.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh’s political secretary Yap Yee Vonne said residents wanted walkways and properly connected roads for their safely.

“The safety of residents is a priority. For the next few months, the Segambut MP’s office will work closely with DBKL to further improve the road,” she said.

Residents filed numerous complaints about the hazardous road condition a few months ago, urging DBKL to upgrade it as the tiled pavement was broken.

Resident Kevin Low said many accidents had occurred at the junction of Jalan 8/38A but there had been no accidents lately.

“The walkways have been improved so it is safer for pedestrians to walk there now,” said resident James Chin.

Jalan 6/38A alongside Sungai Keroh is also being upgraded and is expected to be completed by March. – By AMIRAH CHE RAMLAN
