MOTHER-to-be Nur Izzah Aqilah Mat Said could hardly believe her luck when she learnt that a new home purchase resulted in her winning another property worth over RM1mil in a different location.
The 26-year-old, who works as an executive at a government-linked company, was the grand prize winner of Sime Darby Property Bhd’s Beyond 50 campaign.
She won a luxurious unit at The Serenade, a limited-edition condominium located at The Glades, Putra Heights, after purchasing a double-storey house at Elmina Green Six, City of Elmina last year.
Accompanied by her husband Muhamad Zafri Zaqwan Mohd Ridzuwan, 28, Nur Izzah Aqilah received the keys to her prize from Sime Darby Property group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican at a prize-giving ceremony held at The Glades Plaza, Putra Heights.
The Beyond 50 campaign was organised in commemoration of the property developer’s golden jubilee celebration last year.
The campaign encompassed the joy of home ownership offered by Sime Darby Property in the last 50 years and strengthened the company’s purpose to be a value multiplier for people, businesses, economies and the planet.
Other prizes given out to lucky housebuyers included experiential trips to FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Battersea Power Station in London, Malé in Maldives and Six Senses Uluwatu in Bali.
“I was happy when informed that I was in the running for the campaign’s top three prizes. But winning the grand prize of a house worth over RM1mil was unexpected and it’s something I’ve never experienced before,” said Nur Izzah.
“My husband and I chose to buy our home in Elmina because it’s close to our workplaces and because of Sime Darby Property’s reputation (as a trusted developer). We’re both the first in our families to buy a property from them,” she added.
Nur Izzah and Muhamad Zafri, who got married in May last year and bought their house six months later, described the prize as a belated wedding gift and blessing from their firstborn child who is due next month.
In his speech, Azmir said: “Beyond 50 offered a chance for us at Sime Darby Property to thank our customers and stakeholders for their unwavering support and trust over the past five decades, as well as a way for us to look forward to the many exciting milestones in the coming years.
“We believe that we are ‘a force for good’ and we hold this declaration close to our hearts, making sure that it is reflected in everything we do.
“We strongly believe that our responsibility as a property developer transcends beyond building sustainable communities, to pave the way to build homes of tomorrow and deliver impactful changes to all parties across domains,” he said.
Azmir said Beyond 50 garnered bookings of over 830 units worth approximately RM1.25bil across residential, commercial and industrial categories, within four months.
New products with a gross development value of RM948mil contributed to the campaign’s overall success, garnering a 76% take-up of total sales bookings.
A fun-filled carnival to mark the unveiling of Serasi Residences was held concurrently with the ceremony.
Serasi Residences is a range of freehold service apartments located within Putra Heights Sentral, Sime Darby Property’s latest transit-oriented development (TOD) project.
