Charity screening of ‘Rajah’ on March 9


‘Rajah’ is a Hollywood production about Brooke’s reign in Sarawak.

A SCREENING of the movie Rajah will be held to raise funds for charity.

The movie, which is about Sir James Brooke’s reign in Sarawak, will be screened on March 9 at the King’s Trioplex cinema in Sibu, Sarawak.

Tickets are priced at RM30, RM50 and RM100 for the 503 seats.

Cinema manager Rory Wong said at a press conference that proceeds would be used to expand Sibu Life Care Society’s (SLCS) building and the maintenance of its ambulance.

“The collection will also be used to help the Destiny for Children Association.

“We hope this film can give the people of Sarawak an opportunity, especially school students, to learn more about the history of the state,” he said.

Rajah, a Hollywood film about Brooke, the first White Rajah of Sarawak, was shot in the state.

The film stars Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Josie Ho and Dominic Monaghan as well as local actors Bront Palarae, Shaheizy Sam and Atiqah Hasiholan, among others.
