A ‘Riang, Riuh Raya’ for all

Celebrate a Riang Riuh Raya at Cheras LeisureMall with its kampung house-inspired decor.

IF you’ve ever been to Cheras, you would have definitely heard of Cheras LeisureMall. When it first opened its doors in 1994, it was billed as one of Malaysia’s first multiplexes, complete with an arcade, bookstore, indoor roller coaster and community events which drew big crowds.

Over the years, this neighbourhood mall has evolved into a family-friendly shopping centre. This year, Cheras LeisureMall is celebrating a riang riuh Hari Raya Aidilfitri with plenty of activities, events and goodies up for grabs.

Festive redemption

From now until the end of April, Cheras LeisureMall is having a Raya Redemption campaign where customers can redeem prizes using their receipts. Just spend RM100 in a single receipt to redeem an exclusive set of duit Raya packets.

Shoppers can also redeem a mystery prize with minimum spending of RM200 in up to two receipts. Redemptions can be made on the same day of purchase from the lower ground information counter (terms and conditions apply).

Workshops and performances galore

Throughout April, visitors can also dabble in a variety of experiential festive events. Try your hand at crafting traditional art and enjoy a plethora of dance and musical performances.

For hands-on arts and crafts, check out the Felt Ketupat Workshop on April 16, 2pm-6pm at Level 2 LeisurePlex; and the Gasing Painting Workshop on April 24 from 2pm-6pm at Level 2 LeisurePlex.

In addition, enjoy shows at the LG Concourse on the weekends:

> April 8: Riuh Tradisi Kampung Raya Dance

> April 9: Creative Music Live Show

> April 16: Kompang Formation Performance

> April 22: Lenggang Lenggok Kampung Raya Dance

> April 23: Malay Traditional Music Performance

> April 29: Johor Traditional Dance

The performances all start at 2pm – perfect timing for you to get some Raya shopping done first.

Shoppers can redeem an entry to the workshops by presenting a single receipt with a minimum of RM30 spent at any of the participating outlets. However, spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to come early. Also, don’t miss the Raya character walkabout happening across the entire mall on April 15 from 4pm-5pm.

Art competition for kids

Children aged four to 12 can express their creativity in a Raya-themed art competition to be held on April 16 at 2.30pm.

Blood donation drive

In the spirit of giving back to the community for Raya, Cheras LeisureMall will be holding a blood donation drive on April 16 from 11am to 5pm at L2 Concourse. Support the National Blood Bank by helping the nation fulfil its blood supply needs.
