HOMEDEC, the highly anticipated home design and interior exhibition, made its grand return to Penang shores to celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre.

This year’s event was especially significant as it coincided with rising homeownership in Penang.

As indicated by the transaction data of National Property Information Centre (Napic), Penang’s residential property market is booming with transaction volumes increasing by 46% between Q1 and Q3 in 2022.

“With more than 13,200 transactions valued at an average of RM500,000 per transaction, we are looking at around RM3.3bil worth of renovation and fixtures for Penang alone, and this trend is expected to continue in 2023 with more niche high-end projects expected to be launched,” said C.I.S projects and business development senior manager Nica Leong.

“This surge will make renovation and interior design services in demand and as such, Homedec becomes the ideal platform for homeowners and design enthusiasts to discover the latest trends and technologies in home design and decor,” she said.

“With the rising trend of homeownership in Penang, Homedec’s 20th anniversary celebration is timed perfectly to reward homeowners.

“The exhibition was packed with flagship highlights and activities, offering over RM800,000 worth of cash and prizes to be won this year,” Leong added.

Among others, close to 10 popular kitchen exhibitors were on hand to meet visitors face to face, and provided expert advice on the latest kitchen designs, materials and technologies.

The recent three-day exhibition attracted over 27,600 visitors. To add to the celebration, and with Hari Raya just around the corner, a range of exciting activities were also curated to attract a diverse class of homeowners.

Shoppers enjoyed a variety of best deals on fixtures, finishes, furniture, appliances, soft furnishings and more.

Additionally, visitors received a door gift upon entering the exhibition and had the opportunity to double their winnings when they spent at Homedec as they received a Gift with Purchase.

They were also entitled for a chance to win the 20th Anniversary Star Prize: RM30,000 home makeover package and other cash and prizes through the Homedec Contest: Shop Big Win Big!
