IN the spirit of giving back to the community, 7-Eleven will continue its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) Community Care initiative “Semurni Kasih” in conjunction with Ramadan with the aim of empowering the lives of those in need.

In collaboration with NGOHub Asia, the company aims to further expand its network to enable the NGO to provide food and non-food products to the targeted beneficiaries of Semurni Kasih.

Co-chief executive officers Wong Wai Keong and Tan U-Ming of 7-Eleven said in a statement, “It is crucial to try to reach as many people as possible and assist them, especially in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We encourage more shoppers at 7-Eleven stores to join in the effort to contribute to the less fortunate members of our community, especially during Ramadan.”

Wong is also 7-Eleven’s executive director.

This initiative is part of 7-Eleven’s effort to encourage its customers to do more charity work.

Customers can purchase items they wish to donate at a 7-Eleven store and put them in the donation boxes available at all stores nationwide.

Wong and Tan said there is an increase in the donation amount and the number of NGOs that benefitted from the initiative.

In 2022, 7-Eleven donated over RM4.8mil through annual donation drives and campaigns such as “Semurni Kasih”, “Lend A Helping Hand” and #BuatBaikTogether.

Meanwhile, 7-Eleven is seeing overwhelming support and demand for more 7-Cafe stores as it opened its 100th store at Bukit Jalil Tropika.

“We are happy to hit our 100th-store milestone.

“We have plans to expand our 7-Cafe stores beyond the Klang Valley to cater to our customers’ needs,” said Wong and Tan.

During a buka puasa event held at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, the company launched its Hari-Hari Hari Raya Campaign.

This is an initiative to increase its brand awareness and promotional offers through its F&B segment, 7-Cafe, and engage with its customers as well as help small and local businesses in Malaysia.

The Raya campaign which runs until May 21 offers discounted prices for selected items alongside other promotions.

To attract and retain 7-Eleven customers, the new update of the My7E loyalty app rewards loyal customers through a simplified rewards programme (buy, scan and earn) which enables customers to get extra discounts, freebies and earn rewards.
