CELEBRATING Hari Raya Aidilfitri is not only limited to humans as it seems our feline friends can also join in the festivities.
A number of traders offered traditional clothes designed for cats at the Setel Raya Bersama Starvendors KLCC Mega Raya Fest 2023 (Starvendors 2023) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in the heart of the city.
Meowku vendor Muhammad Fareez, 32, said there had always been high demand for traditional clothes for cats.
“We don’t only sell clothes for cats but also accessories to complement the clothing.
“Cat clothes are available from small to extra large sizes and the price begins from RM45,” he said.
Nor Eliza Mohamed Ishak, 37, who bought clothes from the store, said she wanted her cats to share the festive spirit.
“I bought five traditional outfits for my five cats so that we can look coordinated during Raya.
“I also bought songkok for each of them.
“The total amount spent was about RM250,” she said.
Attracting a large number of visitors on its final day, the festival, which operated continuously for 100 hours from April 13 until April 17 midnight, featured over 500 stalls offering a variety of products.
People wasted no time in preparing for the festivities, even on the weekday when StarMetro visited.
Apart from clothing, vendors also sold make-up products so that customers could put their best face forward come Syawal.
Amalina Syahirah, 28, vendor for local make-up brand Obsess Cosmetics, said response had been good since opening day.
“We have been open every day since the first day and it has been crowded.
“Since we are open 24 hours, it is still crowded until 3am every day, especially after the breaking of fast,” she added.
There was also a variety of food options available such as kuih raya in a variety of interesting shapes and colours.
A visitor who wanted to be known only as Nur Shaza, went on a spending spree at the festival.
“It is joy to shop at KLCC due to the extensive selections and reasonable prices. I think the price range here is not excessively high.
“While the prices may be lower on online shopping platforms, we cannot check on the product quality physically like we can do here,” she said.
