FITNESS enthusiasts can look forward to using the brand new jogging track and walkway at Taman Permainan SS19/6K located at SS19 in Subang Jaya.

With the aim of promoting healthy living and encouraging community engagement, the Selangor Penyayang Project paid close to RM100,000 to construct a 280-metre long and two-metre wide walkway in response to the lack of a proper walkway at the playground-cum-park.

The project is intended to provide the community with a space for physical activity and social interaction, with a focus on promoting an active lifestyle.

Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng said the decision to construct a new walkway was made following the gotong-royong programme conducted with residents in February last year.

“During the programme, we were informed by residents that they faced difficulties when walking around the park due to the lack of a proper walkway,” said Ng.

She added some residents also highlighted that the muddy field during the rainy season posed a danger to park users, especially senior citizens.

The new walkway was completed on Jan 6 this year.

The launch was attended by MBSJ councillor Chia Yew Ken and other representatives from the city council.

Ng urged residents to monitor the condition of the walkway and alert the authorities if they have any concerns about the facility.
