Investment holding company Lim Seong Hai Capital Bhd (LSH Capital) has made its inaugural corporate zakat payment of RM88,000.

The payment was handed over to a Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ MAIWP) representative at a ceremony held in conjunction with LSH Capital’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

LSH Capital independent and non-executive director Datuk Seri Mohd Noor Yaacob presented the contribution.

Guest of honour was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also Plantation and Commodities Minister.

In his speech, LSH Capital non-executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng said, “This marks the first time that we are paying corporate zakat, and we hope this will continue in the years to come.

“As a syariah-compliant listed company, we feel it is our responsibility to contribute to society, and this is one of the many avenues for us to fulfil our long-term Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

“This is a blessing that we share with all. The success of LSH Capital will be enjoyed at all levels from its shareholders and employees, to the community and the less able.

“We hope this zakat contribution will have a positive impact on society, especially the asnaf groups in Kuala Lumpur.”
