Making an impact on urban spaces

CITY developer SkyWorld Development Bhd has won four awards at the StarProperty Awards 2023, cementing its position as a formidable force in urban development.

SkyWorld was ranked No.1 in StarProperty All-Stars Award (non-listed company category).

The developer also won The Frontier Finder Award (Excellence) for SkyBlox @ SkySanctuary, Setapak; The Business Estate Award (Honours) for SAMA Square @ SkySanctuary, Setapak; and The Skyline Award (Honours) for Curvo Residences @ SkyArena, Setapak.

SkyWorld Development Bhd chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said in a statement, “These wins have given us a much- needed boost to continue doing what we do best as a city developer. “As we strive to create innovative products for better living, I would like to acknowledge the team whose hard work and commitment have been crucial to making this happen.”

There are two projects under the SkySanctuary master development that the SkyWorld Group is proud of: SkyBlox and SAMA Square.

A revolutionary concept, SkyBlox was created to provide Malaysia’s first truly sustainable homes for urban dwellers.

Its goal is to turn vacant land into temporary living experiences with a prefabricated design that is easily relocated to another site by using a modular system.

“We spent a lot of time refining the idea of reusing the modular homes to promote sustainability,” said Lee.

The strategy is to utilise the unused land temporarily for a period of seven to 10 years and create a vibrant landmark before it is fully developed into permanent housing.

“SkyBlox is uniquely designed to address high rental issues within the city by providing affordable and flexible accommodation coupled with the latest facilities,” Lee added.

SkyWorld is also pushing the sustainable envelope with SAMA Square, targeted to launch during Q3 this year.

SAMA Square is expected to play a crucial role in creating vibrant communities by providing amenities and services that enhance the quality of life.

Architectural forms and streetscapes at SAMA Square will create a contemporary urban space that helps drive economic development and increase job opportunities in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

In turn, this will increase property values and the overall quality of life within the area.

“We emphasise the importance of creating high-quality, sustainable and community- oriented commercial spaces.

“SkyWorld is committed to delivering an exceptional living experience in the city which is aligned with our brand pillars of sky living experience, innovation and value creation,” said Lee.
