Fast forward to today, Watsons Malaysia has rapidly expanded the brand – hitting the 700th store nationwide milestone.
Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh credited loyal customers and members for being the backbone to the retail chain’s success and for helping it achieve the recognition of top retail brand in the nation – winning the platinum accolade in this category at the Putra Brand Awards 2022.
“The grand opening of Watsons Malaysia’s 700th store serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to making our products and services easily accessible to our valued customers and members within their local neighbourhoods,” said Loh.
Spanning 385sqm, Watsons Malaysia’s 700th store in KSL Esplanade Mall, Klang, features the latest G9 concept which seamlessly integrates a wide range of exclusive products and services.
“Our aim is to provide a convenient and hassle-free shopping experience, the latest and trendiest product range, sustainable choices, and a wide array of services through our integrated offline and online platforms,” Loh added.
Shoppers can expect one-of-a-kind services in-store including an innovative Style Me feature counter equipped with augmented reality (AR) technology for virtual colour try-ons, a dedicated Watsons Elite express lane for privileged members, and convenient self-checkout options.
Besides exclusive brands and merchandise, the store also offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services, beauty tools, confectionery, and practical household products, as well as an e-stamp area where customers can shop, collect stamps and redeem items.
Products can also be shipped to customers’ homes in the same day in the Klang Valley with Watsons Express Delivery, or customers can choose to collect in store in less than four hours by using the “click and collect” feature.
Noting that Watsons has been honoured as the number one personal care and beauty retailer in the Campaign-Asia Top 50 Brands, A.S. Watson Group managing director Dominic Lai said: “Watsons will continue to develop and adapt to being the leading retailer in health and beauty products to fulfil customers’ shifting needs and achieve excellence in offering an unmatched offline and online customer experience.
“We will continue this growth path with our customers and build an improved tomorrow for all of us together with an unwavering sense of purpose and a commitment to ensuring that our customers ‘Look Good, Do Good, and Feel Great’,” said Lai.
