ORANG Asli villages in Selangor that have a surau were given cows for Hari Raya Aidiladha.Hee Loy Sian, who is the state tourism, environment, green technology and Orang Asli affairs chairman, said,
“This year, we have allocated a cow each for 13 Orang Asli villages in six districts.
“The contribution cost about RM80,000 inclusive of transport.
“The allocation is through Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB),” he said.
The presentation was held at Taman Arnab at Selangor Fruit Valley in Bestari Jaya, Kuala Selangor.
Also present were PKPS CEO Mohammad Khairil Mohammad Razi, PNSB CEO Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim and Orang Asli Development Department director Mohamad Anis Othman.
The 13 Orang Asli villages that received the festive contribution were Hulu Batu, Hulu Kuang and Batu 12 in the Gombak district; Bukit Bandaraya and Bukit Lanjan in Petaling district; Changkat Bintang, Tun Abdul Razak and Bukit Manchong in Hulu Selangor; Kepau Laut and Taman Desa Kemandol in Kuala Langat; Bukit Bakong Sungai Pelek and Sungai Buah in Sepang; and Kuala Pangsun in the Hulu Langat district.
Hee said there were 74 Orang Asli villages in Selangor, and the representatives could send requests to the state government.
