Kedah Fashion Week 2023 (KFW) will show off diverse and innovative South-East Asian collections from 15 renowned and emerging designers.
Themed “Big Bang”, KFW 2023 will take place from Aug 4 to 6 at Aman Central in Alor Setar.
Belleview Group director Grace Ho said, “Attendees can look forward to a captivating lineup of fashion shows from the designers, labels and lifestyle brands.
“Our aim is to be the ultimate destination for fashion enthusiasts in the northern region.”
She was speaking during a sneak peak of KFW at Collab Store, The Shoppes, Four Seasons Place in Kuala Lumpur.
Belleview Group chief operating officer (retail and commercial) Lawrence Teh said Aman Central was the ideal venue for this year’s event as it had experienced remarkable growth, recovering to 95% of its 2019 shopper count.
Teh added that since the start of KFW in 2016, they had sought to promote diversity while creating job opportunities for Malaysians in the fashion industry.
“Fashion serves as a form of self-expression. With this understanding, we strive to cater to every stylistic preference and taste.”
A Cut Above Group founder Datin Winnie Loo said, “Over the years, I have seen several homegrown talents become the next big thing in fashion because of platforms that have nurtured their growth.
“I am looking forward to KFW 2023 where we will see a melting pot of different styles by new designers.”
Echoing the sentiment was singer and former beauty queen Dr Soo Wincci who congratulated the hosts for embracing diversity.
“It is refreshing to see new faces being given the spotlight.
This year’s KFW promises to be a captivating exploration of the northern region’s fashion identity from tradition to modern minimalism and high-end jewellery,” she said.
Official fashion partner Collab Store will kick off the festivities by having celebrity collaborations with Kedahan designers Ikmal Mukmin of Gens Great Idea and Jeremy Lim of YT Label.
Also part of this year’s KFW 2023 lineup are Asyraf Arrif, Ezuwan Ismail, Anuar Faizal, Teddie Alrashed for Bleu Natar and Oscar Lee for Outdwell.
Local fashion veterans will be headlined by ByTwoo, Daniel Zharif, Dee Roslan, Salleh Hamid, Amaze, Naemah Khuntum, Hasfitri Yusof, Wan&Mary as well as Seth&Luna.
