STUDENTS who did well in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams are being rewarded.
Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng is allocating RM90,000 as an education incentive for students from his constituency who obtained 5As or better.
“This allocation is one of the highest offered by an assemblymen (of 82 constituencies) in the state,” Chieng said during a presentation ceremony at SMK Sacred Heart, Sibu.
He added that if he had more funds, he would increase the allocation as encouragement and recognition for students who excelled in their studies.
“Last year, I allocated RM80,000. This year, I increased the allocation to RM90,000.”
At the ceremony, 73 SMK Sacred Heart students who had achieved at least 5As received the incentive.
The handover was witnessed by school principal David Teo.
