Painters looking to establish themselves given space to showcase and sell pieces

A LOCAL platform has become a focal point for aspiring and disabled artists.

Art Market Malaysia was created to elevate the standard of art in the country and offer aspiring artists a venue to present their work to the public, said its founder Rita Hatta.

“For new artists, it is important to build a portfolio.

“Art Market allows artists to promote their artworks as well as their heritage and culture,” she said.Rita, who has a background in sales and marketing, said she created Art Market as a space where artists from all backgrounds could have opportunities to showcase their talents and sell their artwork.

“To date, we have organised more than 100 events and exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor,” she said.

Art Market recently launched an exhibition themed “Our Heritage and Culture” in Kuala Lumpur that was opened by Balik Pulau MP Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik.

Currently, Art Market Malaysia is holding an exhibition running from noon to 6pm daily until July 30, at Level 2 of Shoppes at Four Seasons Place, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
