HULU LANGAT folks will be able to look forward to better mobile network coverage and flood mitigation measures that will bring an end to their watery woes.

These promises were made by Pakatan Harapan communications director Fahmi Fadzil and Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan as they joined Barisan Nasional candidate for Dusun Tua Datuk Johan Abd Aziz at the last weekend of his campaign trail.

To drum up his campaign trail, Johan brought Fahmi to a sepak takraw game in Kampung Melaka where a friendly match was being played among 10 teams from Kampung Sungai Raya, Taman Sri Raya and Kampung Batu 10.

It was during a photo session with the players that the Communications and Digital Minister tested the internet speed in the area.

"The reading here is 252mbps. So it is fast. The average Internet speed in Selangor is 55mbps.

"If any resident is experiencing slow service with their mobile lines, let me know. I will help," said Fahmi.

Fahmi added that he intends to help bring 5G services to the people of Hulu Langat so that they could enjoy better connection in the area.

The Dusun Tua campaign trail also saw Ahmad joining Pakatan Harapan grassroot members for drinks at a roadside stall at Kampung Batu 14.

The Deputy Finance Minister 1 was slotted to visit six other areas in Dusun Tua before heading to Semenyih and Shah Alam.

On Ahmad’s visit, Hulu Langat BN committee member Suryadi Jalil said supporters, many of whom were also Dusun Tua residents, would be expecting more than a few 'pantun' from the Pontian MP who was known for his ability to come up with poetic verses on the fly.

"By taking him on walkabouts to the flats and village areas, we expect him to take note of the condition of roads and public facilities in the area and allocate the budget to carry out necessary improvements," said Suryadi.

When interviewed Ahmad said he was aware of the area's past history of floods and the frustration felt by victims who had had to endure losses and hardship repeatedly.

"Flood mitigation work for Dusun Tua will be given top priority in the coming budget allocation plans," he said.

Ahmad said as Johan has prior experience as the former Semenyih assemblyman for two terms, he would be ideal for putting these plans in place for Dusun Tua once the project receives the green light.

Dusun Tua comes under the Hulu Langat federal constituency which also includes Semenyih.
