Renowned chefs to fire up the senses at festival

Flame-cooked food to go with Guinness.

GUINNESS Flavour By Fire returns this year with a bigger line-up of renowned chefs offering Guinness-infused flame-cooked foods.

Guinness will once again unlock a plethora of flavours at this festival highlighting the power of fire and infusion.

Flame-cooked food items undergo the Maillard reaction, releasing distinctive rich flavours, textures, hues and aromas.

And when it comes to understanding this phenomenon, no beer surpasses Guinness.

Brewed with fire-roasted barleys (at 232°C), it boasts a distinctive taste that reigns supreme.

Heineken Malaysia Wheat Beer, Stout and Diageo Brands marketing manager Shaun Lim said, “Guinness has a sensational depth of flavours that chefs know and appreciate.

“People are constantly on the lookout for conversation-worthy food adventures and our festival is the perfect occasion for fans and foodies to come together.

“A memorable experience can be defined in many ways but for Guinness, it’s great stout, great food and great company.”

The renowned chefs and food establishments taking part in the festival’s Kuala Lumpur edition are Big Boyz Barbecue by culinary innovator chef Navin Karu; Guinness Malaysia’s flagship partner outlet of Arthur’s Storehouse; Yat Sing Smokehouse; Kao BBQ; Shucked Oysters and Seafood Bar;chef Suren Krishnan of Tipsy Boar; Undisclosed Location; celebrity chefs Johnny Fua and Sherson Lian of Kitchen Mafia; TNR by Sean and Angie; Caketella; and Bacon It.

The food and beer will be enjoyed with a backdrop of lively music from local musicians and a variety of engaging activities that promise to ignite the convivial atmosphere that Guinness fans have come to know and enjoy.

At the festival, guests can take part in the Long Bar Challenge to get their hands on exclusive Guinness prizes as well as get their photographs imprinted on creamy Guinness heads.

A visit to participating outlets will also net prizes, including exclusive invitations to the festival’s finale party, Arthur’s Storehouse dining vouchers and Guinness smokey marinade sauce.

The festival will be held from Aug 18 to 20 at Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur, and Sept 2 to 3 at Fort Cornwallis, Penang.
