Barisan reps to be in next line-up of Selangor local councillors, says MB

THE next line-up of councillors at local authorities in Selangor will include Barisan Nasional representatives, says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Mentri Besar said this would come into effect when the term for current councillors ends in December.

Currently, representatives from various political parties and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) sit as councillors in local authorities.

“Besides NGOs, we will also have allocations for 'ketua kampung' (village chiefs).

"We have 371 village chiefs, including those from the new villages, in Selangor,” he said at the launch of the state's Kempen Kibar Jalur Gemilang at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Aziz in Shah Alam on Tuesday (Aug 22).
