ALL Selangor policies introduced must be understood by state government officers and the public.
7Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he had noticed that the people were unaware of state programmes.
“I was on a talk show recently and the hosts had not heard about the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), which is an important comprehensive plan,” he said at the launch of the state’s “Kempen Kibar Jalur Gemilang” (Fly the National Flag) at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak in Bangunan Sultan Abdul Aziz, Shah Alam.
He urged state agencies and government-linked sectors to make an effort to educate the people on programmes for their benefit.
Amirudin said the state had implemented programmes such as “Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor” (Bingkas), “Iltizam Selangor Sihat” and numerous health and educational programmes as well as initiatives for the poor.
He also urged agencies and government officers to foster togetherness and solidarity as it had been the landscape of the nation.
Amirudin also said the next line-up of local councillors in Selangor would include Barisan Nasional representatives.
This will come into effect when the term for current councillors ends in December, he said.
Currently, representatives from various political parties and non-governmental organisations (NGO) sit as councillors in local councils.
“Besides NGOs, we will have allocations for ketua kampung (village chief),” he said.
“We have 371 ketua kampung including those from the new villages in Selangor,” he added.
Also present at the event were newly sworn-in state executive councillors, mayors, council presidents and department heads.
