All set for National Day

Come what may, the National Day spirit remains entrenched in the hearts of Malaysians.

This is evident from our grand parades and the way we deck our streets and buildings with the national flag year after year.

The exception, of course, was in 2020 and 2021 during the movement control order at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the coming 66th National Day, there is a celebratory atmosphere as seen from the scale of decorations in the streets and on our buildings.

There is deeper meaning behind the flying of the Jalur Gemilang, of course.

For those who remember our struggle for independence, it is to remember those who fought and died for our country.

Most importantly, it is a reminder that no one should take peace for granted.

This year’s theme “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan Penuhi Harapan” (Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope), speaks of the importance of unity in facing challenges as a nation.

In a nutshell, it means in a multiracial country, cooperation and harmony are necessary to benefit the economic sector as well as strengthen the pace of its progress.
