Free shuttle buses set up for National Day, says Perbadanan Putrajaya

PERBADANAN Putrajaya (PPj) has made logistical preparations to ensure a smooth National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31, as about 100,000 people are expected to attend.

In a statement on Monday (Aug 28), PPj said that there will be 50 free shuttle buses operating on the day with two routes - Zone A and B.

Buses on Zone A would pick up passengers from Terminal Putrajaya Sentral and drop off passengers at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Precinct 3.

Zone B buses will pick up passengers at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) lobby in Precinct 5 and drop off passengers at Jalan Tun Hussein in Precinct 3.

The buses will operate between 4am and 2pm, with a frequency of 10 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes during the non-peak hours; peak periods are from 4am to 8.30am, and 10.30am to 2pm.

To ensure efficient bus services, the left-most lane along Lebuh Wawasan, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Tun Hussein would be reserved exclusively for buses.

Motorists are advised not to park their vehicles along the route.

Residents in the federal administrative capital are advised to use the free Nadiputra bus services that will run between 6am and 2pm at 20 minute intervals.

Residents in Precinct 10,11,14 and 15 are encouraged to get on P102 or P103, and transit to P101 at the Kompleks E bus transit hub to head to Precinct 3 while those in Precinct 16,17 and 18 are encouraged to take P106.

For those planning to drive, parking options with over 7,652 bays are available at areas near Terminal Putrajaya Sentral and PICC, after which the shuttle buses would connect the last mile.

There are also 27 car parks with about 4,000 bays located along Precinct 1,2,3 and 4, much closer to Dataran Putrajaya but the roads leading there would be closed at 5am.
