PROJEK Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) is one of the sponsors for the Cradle for Inclusive Nurturing and Teaching Atmosphere (Cinta Care) Project to upgrade the nursery at Kajang Women’s Prison.

Prolintas group chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah said the corporate social responsibility initiative led by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia alumni aimed to create a conducive, safe and encouraging environment for children of prison inmates aged below three.

“We sponsored Lego BrickMatrix to stimulate creativity and improve the children’s cognitive development, in addition to giving them early exposure to science, mathematics, engineering and technology (STEM) education.

“The facility meets best childcare practices that we want to implement at the nursery, including a Montessori room, educational materials, television, sleeping room as well as a clean and comfortable dedicated feeding room,” he said.

Mohammad Azlan added that the project was a continuation of a similar one that started early this year focused on improving equipment and facilities for a pastry-making workshop at the prison.

It has successfully helped inmates generate income.

In a statement, Prolintas said it would continue to look for opportunities to help those in need towards achieving its aspiration of becoming a community-friendly highway provider.
