KLANG Municipal Council (MPK) enforcement officers are faced with even more challenges as they carry out their duties in the public eye, says its president Noraini Roslan.

Their job scope had expanded too, she noted.

“Other than enforcement duties, they also help out in disasters like flash floods, storms and other emergencies through the Quick Response Team (Skuad Pantas),” Noraini said during a ceremony to mark the promotion of personnel from its Enforcement Department.

“Our officers must be quick to understand issues and use the law while in the field to resolve matters.

“Every enforcement action must be meted out with swiftness, commitment and integrity.”

Noraini said the department could enhance accountability through the use of body cameras, by jotting down everything that happened during operations and submitting reports promptly on matters of public interest.

At the event, Noraini and MPK acting secretary Zaireezal Ahmad Zainudin pinned the new rank on 11 enforcement officers.

The department has 365 staff. Also present was enforcement director Andry Arman Masrom.
