THIS Mid-Autumn Festival, Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur is presenting an assortment of artisanal mooncakes from its restaurant, Tao Chinese Cuisine.
The gift boxes for the collection themed “Moonlit Garden” are crafted entirely out of bamboo, in line with the hotel-and-resort chain’s sustainability initiatives.
The boxes are adorned with carvings of koi fish, in homage to the hotel’s garden and koi pond.
There are also cherry blossom motifs, a symbol of renewal that can be spotted on the illuminated floor-to-ceiling glass panels gracing the entrance to Tao.
The imagery on the boxes symbolises longevity and serves as a reminder to make responsible choices to protect the environment.
The Moonlit Garden collection showcases the handiwork of Tao’s master dim sum chef Lo Tian Sion, and includes classic favourites and inventive new creations.
Among them are Musang King Durian Snow Skin with Oats (made with authentic Musang King durian flesh), and Almond Purple Sweet Potato Skin with Pandan Paste that comes in a fusion of flavours.
