BRDB Rotary Children’s Residence (BRCR) in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, can now benefit from clean energy.

EFS Revision Energy Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja (RCKLD) spearheaded the installation of a solar PV system at the home.

The project was completed in early July and has helped to lower the home’s electricity bill by 40%.

The home is caring for 70 abandoned and vulnerable children.

In a statement, EFS honorary adviser Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the project was not merely about harnessing solar power.

“It’s also about the spirit of volunteerism and a testament to EFS’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.”

EFS also committed to a sponsorship of RM50,000 to the home.

During a simple ceremony, BRCR exco chairman Datuk Chan Kam Fatt was thanked for his dedication and personal contribution of RM20,000 to the solar project.

The fundraising efforts of RCKLD president Amir Izwan and past president Ajit Johl were also recognised.

The children expressed their appreciation by presenting handicraft items to the key representatives of the solar project.

Chan said, “The children made the handicraft using machines powered by our newly installed solar PV system.”
