The town of Kuala Kubu Baru is about 70km from Kuala Lumpur and borders Selangor and Pahang.

It is a popular spot for visitors who love its scenic hills, hot springs and waterfalls.

The quiet town is known for its colonial-era buildings including prewar shophouses and a cinema that dates back to the 1950s.

Most people agree that KKB, as it is fondly known, still retains its laidback pre-Merdeka vibes.

Kuala Kubu Baru was designed by Malaya’s first town planner Charles Crompton Reade about 100 years ago based on the garden city movement.

A major attraction is the Chiling Waterfall while paragliding, whitewater rafting, mountain biking and hiking are also popular.
