Some Klang Valley businesses scale down to deal with water cut

SOME business operators in the Klang Valley are reducing their operations to deal with the three-day water cut that starts Tuesday (Oct 10).

The disruption is caused by upgrades, maintenance and replacement works at Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant.

In Cheras, spa and wellness centre owner Mastura Idris said her premises had stopped accepting bookings for spa treatments currently.

"For the time being, we are only open for facial and make-up appointments.

"Some clients have cancelled their appointments due to hygiene concerns," she said, adding her centre had stored water that could last for three days.

In Kajang, mamak restaurant worker A. Nagoorkani said the eatery would remain closed until the water supply resumes on Oct 12.

He said the eatery had stored some water for emergency use but it was not enough to sustain their daily operations.

"We need lots of water to wash dishes and prepare food for customers," he added.

Air Selangor, in a statement on its website, said the scheduled work started at 9am on Tuesday (Oct 10) and expected to be completed by 7pm on Wednesday (Oct 11), and water supply would resume in stages.
