Water cut: Supply restored to 64.6% of areas affected in Petaling, Hulu Langat and KL


WATER supply for the areas affected by the Sg Langat Water Treatment Plant has reached 64.6%, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement.

At 6pm on Thursday (Oct 12), water supply recovery for the Petaling and Kuala Lumpur regions had reached 89.2% and 43.1% respectively, while water supply to Hulu Langat had been fully restored at 1.30pm.

Water supply to another 162 localities in Kuala Lumpur and four more in the Petaling region have yet to be restored.

Air Selangor the areas still affected are estimated to fully recover by 6am on Friday (Oct 13).

Earlier on Thursday, Air Selangor revised its original schedule for water supply to be fully recovered from noon on that day due to an unavoidable on-site technical issue at the Water Treatment Plant.

"The recovery period had to be extended to ensure the supply of clean and safe treated water can be distributed to consumers.

"Our focus now is to ensure that the water supply recovery process runs smoothly.

Air Selangor added that it would mobilise 81 water tankers in the 162 areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals.
