AS PART of its 23rd anniversry celebrations, Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) distributed 60 hampers filled with essential baby items to local hospitals in the city.
MBSA, in a media statement, said that it was upgraded from municipal council to city council on Oct 10 more than two decades ago.
“The hampers were shared with hospitals including Shah Alam Hospital, Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital, KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital and UMRA Hospital to celebrate the newest additions to our community.
“This gesture allows the city council to partake in the joy of welcoming newborns and extending its gratitude to the community,” said the statement.
MBSA Puspanita chairman Dr Faezah Kassim presided over the hamper handover ceremony to some of the new mothers.
In her message, she emphasised the city’s dedication to fostering community engagement and connecting with its residents.
Also present were MBSA Puspanita deputy chairman Narimah Hashim and deputy secretary Asmah Mohd Zin, and Shah Alam Hospital Management deputy director Fara Wahida Abdul Basit.
MBSA will be running various promotions and initiatives throughout this month for the public, especially Shah Alam residents.
Among them are a RM10 compound reduction campaign, which is a 75% discount in fines for specific parking and traffic offences, as well as free membership at all MBSA libraries.
