SOME 600 guests are expected to attend a dinner held to mark Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce’s (PCCC) 120th anniversary celebrations today.

Its executive adviser Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng said the dinner at a hotel was expected to be attended by Deputy Finance Minister Steven Sim, state executive councillors, elected representatives, councillors and PCCC constituent members.

He said PCCC had made it a tradition to celebrate its history every five years.

“Despite the formality of the occasion, the spirit of the event is rooted in the simplicity and humility of the chamber’s founders.

“Their legacy is evident in the organisation’s resilience and continued prosperity of its members.

“This milestone is not merely an acknowledgment of the past, but a testament to the enduring impact and promise of the future.

“The chamber has come a long way since its inception in 1903.

“It now stands as a beacon of community growth and prosperity for all those it serves,” said Choot during a press conference at its building in George Town.
