SUBANG Jaya City Council (MBSJ) celebrated its third anniversary in style with a grand carnival.

The two-day carnival commenced with a marching competition which drew participation from 63 government agencies, uniformed bodies, residents’ representative councils and MBSJ departments.

Then there were the events – 21 in all, for the enjoyment of city residents and visitors.

Among the thousands who took part in the merriment was Kpl Mohd Noorisyam Sapari@raili, who had travelled from Kajang with his son, Mohammad Nur Ammar Naufal, to participate in the push bike competition.

His son achieved fifth place in the six-year-old category.

“It is good that MBSJ is helping to promote this sport,” he said.

USJ12 resident Aaron Kwan brought his son to explore the reptile section at the petting zoo.

“My wife found out about the carnival online,” he said.

Other activities at the carnival included a volleyball tournament, open dart competition, netball shootout, doodling and colouring contests, penalty shootout and a special mini concert by Kumpulan Wakjeng.
